Our client, a growing non-profit is currently seeking a detail-oriented Medical Billing Specialist for a contract-to-hire opportunity here in the Tucson area. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in medical billing and a strong understanding of billing processes. The successful Medical Billing Specialist candidate will be responsible for the timely submission of medical claims to private insurance companies, AHCCCS online submissions, private pay, and tribal billing. As a Medical Billing Specialist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate billing and reimbursement processes.Responsibilities and Duties:Verify referrals and pre-authorizations, ensuring approval has been received.Collaborate with the billing supervisor to update excel billing spreadsheet with accurate coding and amounts.Prepare, review, and transmit claims using billing software, including electronic and paper claim processing.Enter billing data into Sage accounting software.Update Billing report spreadsheets with Sage Invoice # and record actual amount paid.Perform other assigned duties as required.
